If the house is new, or only several years old, is a home inspection necessary?

One common misconception is that new houses are immaculate, simply because they must meet local code requirements during construction. A point necessary to make here is that Building Code only constitutes the absolute minimum requirements to make the house safe and functional according to provincial or federal bylaws.

It is important to keep in mind that many construction companies build multiples houses quickly at the same time, in which case the quantity of homes built can take priority over the quality of workmanship. Our New Build Home Inspection provides a thorough professional assessment of the home with buyer satisfaction as the core focus, rather than the bare minimum standards of a code inspection. We assess the home as if we are the buyer and make recommendations for improvements on both major and minor issues including cosmetic and workmanship defects.

Depending on the age of the house, our report can be used to obtain correction of these issues before expiration of builder warranties.
